Inpatient Psychiatry Opportunity – Austin, TX
A well-established inpatient behavioral health program in Austin, Texas is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Adult/General Psychiatrist for a 1099 fee-for-service position.
This role offers flexibility, strong earning potential, and a manageable patient caseload in a collaborative inpatient setting.
Position Highlights
- 1099 independent contractor (fee-for-service model)
- Monday–Friday day shift schedule
- Optional weekend coverage for additional income
- Evening weekday phone call for own patients only
- Adult inpatient psychiatry focus
- Patient volume: 15–20 per day (including 3–5 admissions)
- Optional NP supervision with additional stipend
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and admissions
- Provide follow-up care and medication management
- Manage discharges and care transitions
- Participate in treatment team planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary behavioral health teams
Compensation
- Fee-for-service model with high earning potential
- Additional income opportunities through weekend coverage and NP supervision
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Active Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Must be enrolled in Medicare and able to treat Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and commercial patients
- Strong inpatient psychiatry experience preferred
- No H1B or J-1 visa sponsorship available
