Hospitalist NP Opportunity – Anchorage, AK

A growing inpatient healthcare program in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive medical care, including admissions, history & physicals (H&Ps), follow-ups, diagnostics, and discharges for patients ages 5 and older.

This role offers a predictable 7 on / 7 off schedule, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to work in a team-based environment supporting both medical and behavioral health needs.


Position Highlights

  • 7 on / 7 off block schedule (10-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including initial H&Ps within 24 hours of admission
  • Provide follow-up care, diagnostic evaluations, and discharge planning
  • Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and clinical staff
  • Develop and implement integrated care plans
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
  • Recommend and interpret diagnostic tests and treatment plans

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Active Alaska license (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in hospital medicine, inpatient care, or behavioral health settings preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
