Hospitalist NP Opportunity – Anchorage, AK
A growing inpatient healthcare program in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive medical care, including admissions, history & physicals (H&Ps), follow-ups, diagnostics, and discharges for patients ages 5 and older.
This role offers a predictable 7 on / 7 off schedule, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to work in a team-based environment supporting both medical and behavioral health needs.
Position Highlights
- 7 on / 7 off block schedule (10-hour shifts)
- Full-time position with benefits eligibility
- Focus on medical admissions, H&Ps, and inpatient management
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model
- Manage patients with both medical and behavioral health needs
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including initial H&Ps within 24 hours of admission
- Provide follow-up care, diagnostic evaluations, and discharge planning
- Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and clinical staff
- Develop and implement integrated care plans
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Recommend and interpret diagnostic tests and treatment plans
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Active Alaska license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in hospital medicine, inpatient care, or behavioral health settings preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
