Overview

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides health care to patients in both hospital and office settings. They work in consultation, cooperation, and coordination with a collaborative physician. Their functions are guided by the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants in the State of Texas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

    • Master’s Degree
  • Minimum Work Experience
    • 2 years Primary Care
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
    • BSN, MSN, or ANP licensed in the state of Texas or PA license
    • BLS
  • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
    • Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis, and evidence-based care
    • Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues
    • Skills in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising
    • Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
    • Skill in problem solving
    • Skill in verbal and written communication
    • Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
    • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
    • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively

Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, M-F 8-5
