Overview
A BC/BE Trauma Acute Care Surgeon is needed in Abilene, Texas to join a regional medical center serving a 24-county area of 400,000 patients — the largest healthcare hub within a 150-mile radius. Both practicing surgeons and fellowship-trained candidates are encouraged to apply. Texas licensure or eligibility required.
Compensation & Benefits
- $2,688 per day
- $25,000 sign-on bonus
- Relocation and house-hunting assistance up to $20,000
- $2,000 CME allowance
- Full benefits: health, dental, vision, and physician retirement plan
Schedule
- Full-time: 14 shifts per month
- 7 days on / 7 days off (shifts begin Mondays)
- 12-hour primary call + 12-hour backup call per shift day
- Physicians covering 7 consecutive days do not need to remain in-house during backup call hours
Clinical Scope
The surgeon will respond to ED trauma activations, round on admitted patients, see inpatient and ED consults, and perform required surgical procedures across the full scope of acute care surgery.
