About This Opportunity
A respected hospital in the Forest Park area of Chicago, Illinois is seeking an experienced Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join its growing behavioral health team.
Forest Park sits just west of Chicago — a vibrant, accessible community with direct CTA Blue Line access to downtown Chicago, offering psychiatrists the best of both worlds — a welcoming suburban community with all the professional and cultural resources of one of America’s greatest cities just minutes away.
This is a full-time onsite inpatient position with a structured Monday through Friday schedule and participation in a call rotation. The right psychiatrist will bring clinical confidence, strong diagnostic skills, and a genuine commitment to adult behavioral health in the Chicago market.
Schedule & Practice Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday — onsite service only
- Call: Participation in call rotation required
- Setting: Inpatient adult psychiatry — hospital based
- Patient Volume: Adult caseload of 16 patients per day
- Patient Population: Adult psychiatric inpatients
- Service Model: Onsite only — no remote or telehealth component
- Location: Forest Park area — Chicago western suburbs | Cook County
Clinical Responsibilities
This is a comprehensive inpatient psychiatry role with full clinical duties across the adult behavioral health service. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- New patient admissions
- Daily follow-up visits
- Medication management and medication checks
- Patient discharges
- Treatment team participation
- Accurate and timely EMR documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: MGMA-aligned — competitive with national psychiatry benchmarks
- Production Bonus: Performance-based production bonus potential on top of base salary
- Signing Bonus: Negotiable — details discussed during interview process
- Loan Repayment: Medical education loan repayment assistance available — note: not PSLF eligible
- Relocation: Relocation allowance available for candidates moving to the Chicago area

Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program
- Active Illinois medical license or eligibility to obtain
- DEA registration
- Inpatient adult psychiatry experience preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making and treatment team collaboration skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
