About This Opportunity
A respected hospital in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an experienced Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join its growing behavioral health team.
This is a full-time onsite inpatient position with a structured Monday through Friday schedule and participation in a call rotation. The right psychiatrist will bring clinical confidence, strong diagnostic skills, and a genuine commitment to adult behavioral health in one of the country’s most dynamic healthcare markets.

Schedule & Practice Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday — onsite service only
- Call: Participation in call rotation required
- Setting: Inpatient adult psychiatry — hospital based
- Patient Volume: Adult caseload of 16 patients per day
- Patient Population: Adult psychiatric inpatients
- Service Model: Onsite only — no remote or telehealth component
Clinical Responsibilities
This is a comprehensive inpatient psychiatry role with full clinical duties across the adult behavioral health service. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- New patient admissions
- Daily follow-up visits
- Medication management and medication checks
- Patient discharges
- Treatment team participation
- Accurate and timely EMR documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: MGMA-aligned — competitive with national psychiatry benchmarks
- Production Bonus: Performance-based production bonus potential on top of base
- Signing Bonus: Negotiable — details discussed during interview process

- Relocation: Relocation allowance available for candidates moving to the Chicago area

Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program
- Active Illinois medical license or eligibility to obtain
- DEA registration
- Inpatient adult psychiatry experience preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making and treatment team collaboration skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
