Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Opportunity – Hopkinsville, Kentucky
A hospital in Hopkinsville, Kentucky is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a full-time W2 inpatient psychiatry position.
The hospital is considering both an experienced psychiatrist interested in a Medical Director/Clinical Psychiatrist role and candidates interested in a Staff Psychiatrist position.
This is an on-site opportunity focused on the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents in an inpatient setting.

Medical Director Opportunity
The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership within the child and adolescent inpatient program.
No call requirement for the Medical Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Clinical oversight of the program
- Direct patient care
- Treatment planning
- Participation in multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Supervision of APRNs
- Collaboration with hospital leadership and clinical staff
Staff Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Staff psychiatrists will provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents.
Call: Participation in a call rotation of approximately one weekend per month.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- New patient admissions
- Psychiatric evaluations
- Follow-up visits
- Medication management and medication checks
- Discharges
- Treatment planning
- Participation in multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Supervision and collaboration with APRNs
Patient Population & Practice Environment
The psychiatrist will work with a child and adolescent inpatient population, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, treatment, medication management, and discharge planning.
The position offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare.
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Child & Adolescent Psychiatry training/certification
- Eligible for or able to obtain a Kentucky medical license
- Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
