Overview

A group is seeking a Value Based Care Physician to join their team in Sarasota, FL. The Physician will have an administrative and operational role and will provide medical care to patients by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans. This position involves direct patient care and administering medication, making it safety-sensitive. The Physician will report to a Regional Manager (or similar role) and collaborate with other healthcare professionals and clinical teams to ensure quality patient care.

Physician Responsibilities

 

  • Practice medicine using sound judgment and ethical considerations; recognize limitations and seek consultation when necessary; stay updated on current technologies and standards.
  • Meet all clinical obligations: compliance with Accrediting Agencies, CLIA, drug prescription, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, Safety Regulations.
  • Provide independent care for older adults with acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Be accountable for patient care and outcomes; seek specialist consultations as needed, while maintaining responsibility for detailed patient care.
  • Engage with hospitalists during patient hospitalizations.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, promote health, and coordinate care for patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Maintain thorough and timely electronic health records, completed within 48 hours of visits.
  • Deliver quality, preventative, and outcome-focused medical care in a managed care environment.
  • Exhibit compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousness.
  • Interpret diagnostic results for appropriate action, including blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.; establish effective relationships with patients, families, and team members.
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants as required.
  • Ensure patients are seen by a Physician every other visit.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Medical degree from accredited school
  • Active state medical license
  • Minimum 3 years outpatient primary care experience
  • ACLS/BLS certification required
  • Excellent diagnostic skills
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Ability to manage chronic diseases in seniors
  • Understand and interpret business periodicals, journals, procedures, regulations
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements

 

Full range of body motion, including handling and transferring patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reaching for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift/move patients and medical equipment as needed, and lift/carry up to 15 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, ability to sit for extended periods, and operate a motor vehicle with own transportation.
